When I Hit a Low Point, I Learned to Return to Allah
I once went through a low point I had never expected. It was so difficult that I felt empty inside. The things I used to be able to do seemed to have disappeared.

When my familiar strengths seemed to disappear
Before that, I was used to encouraging people, motivating my team, offering guidance and training others. But when that period came, I no longer knew where my own strength had gone.
It felt like a plug being pulled out of a socket. I thought I was finished. I felt hopeless and as though I was no longer useful. Those were some of the feelings I went through.
I used to think I could do it alone
Looking back, before the setback I relied heavily on my experience, skills and past achievements. All of that made me feel I could manage on my own.
When those strengths seemed to disappear, I began to realise that I and all my abilities belonged to Allah too. In my reflection, Allah was not taking those strengths away. I was learning to depend on Him again.
Returning, little by little
I began paying closer attention to my prayers, trying to understand verses of the Quran little by little and asking sincerely in my supplications. I also began remembering Allah in my heart while walking and driving.
The changes I felt came gradually. A sense of calm began to return. I could think more clearly and remember the strengths I once had.
My motivation returned little by little. In my experience, it felt more mature than before.
What I learned from that period
For me, that low point became an invitation to return to Allah. From there, I began to understand myself again and see my strengths differently.
I began to feel confident again, with the awareness that Allah had not abandoned me. When I felt lost, drawing closer to Allah helped me rediscover myself.
